Yet again people outside of the UK doubted Calzaghe and yet again he delivered.

He was losing that fight up until round 6 or 7, changed style 3 times before he finally took control of the fight, only Hopkins and Jones can change styles like that to win a fight

I hope now all the doubters finally realise he is special and quite possibly the best super middleweight of all time. In a way I hoped he was going to say he was retiring when interviewed after the fight, but he thinks he has 12 more months left in him and wants Hopkins at Light Heavy, should be interesting.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but didn't you say rank 1 & 2 guys will fight for each title about 2 months ago?, since then I have tried to get in the top two then waited patiently for the NO 1&2 contenders match. So that was the reason for my post because I was expecting just that.

Yeah very unfair, not happy about it to be honest, worked for a couple of months to get to 1 in all divisions to have a chance at superchamp, now I have 20 other guys fighting to get a shot. I don't think I'm going to play this for a while now, lost heart in it.

But yesterday six-times world champion De La Hoya insistedthe pictures are fake.

His spokesman said "his head's too small and it doesn't even look like his body". She accused the stripper of being "out for money"

I think they are real, it DOES look like his body and reaper I know you love boxing, but copying everything a boxer does isn't the best idea LMAO.

I also think Tyrant and Sugaray should be inducted, why should their only be one avenue of getting in i.e dominating for months?, in my opinion people should get in for different reasons like you see in real hall of fame boards.

I'm also sick of seeing stuff like "ohhh no one can get in,competition not as good as it was back in 1850", or "if so and so came back he would own the current top fighters" if that was the case in real life people like Tyson and Holyfield would never get credit because people would be saying they was on top when Ali, Frazier and Foreman was long gone.

Also where is the proof if a great comes back like JT he would destroy the top new vets?, it's just a biased opinion from people who was on top back then.

You can only beat what's there and new legends should be abled to come through without owning guys who played 10 years ago.

lol that's a dream wrecking post right there, but by the sounds of it he needed a reality check.

Seems like alot of young people think it's easy to become good at a sport just because they love it and are young, but in reality you have to have the right genetics to be good at it mentally and physically, which like you said is very rare.

Someone like Ali didn't just start fighting and all of a sudden become a legend, it took 20 years of living and breathing the sport, but the difference between him and people he beat up is that he had that special talent which he was born with, call it fate or whatever, but someome can train the same way as Ali for 20 years, eat the same foods, fght the same fighters and still lose to him because he has that rare breed of greatness in is genetics.

Boxing is much like tennis and football (soccer) you need to start at like 7-10 years old if not forget it.

Sven Ottke comes to mind. Never got hurt and won almost every fight by UD. I do take into consideration he was helped by the judges and the lack of elite fighters didn't really help his case to be known as a true great, but the way he slipped out of the way of punches and clinched at the right moment proved he had a great defensive boxing brain.
