I remember HTF from announcing his comeback about 6 months ago, only to retire short after when he found out he could not compete anymore with the current champs.
Really? Thats funny cause most of todays champs are bums. Infact I could fight for a solid week and pretty much destroy 98% of the players and in that 98% you are one of them hehe. The other 2% well lets say they are people worth fighting.
OB2D is full of weak fighters like yourself sucka.
No disrespect but do we need to see you post the same thing about how great 2003 was every month or so?.
You have and always will have a biased opinion, it's like Ali, Frazier or Foreman calling Tyson and Holyfield bums because they didn't fight in the 70's. You also, like me only pop in for a few fights every month or so, so how can you tell that all fighters today are bums?.
You only call them bums because they didn't fight when the so called greats were on. Even when Fatny was smashing the shit out of every good player out there you still kept saying he was good but in your prime and back in the glory days he would get beat, so in your eyes NO ONE will ever be as good as the class of 2003, even though they could very well be.
I respect what you have done on OB and I remember when you used to whip ass daily and hold the title forever, but things have moved on and the chance for new legends should be allowed instead of just writing them off before you have even seen them because they wasn't around when you think OB was at it's best
By the way your a bum
Yeah nice car, my own place, great job and GF, feels good being a bum, oh and beating you for ya title and defending then beating you a couple more times when i only played for a about a month, not bad for a bum I'd say.
For the record I wasn't trying to argue with you just making a point.

Professor wrote:Nigel's post is so filled with nationalism and bullshit it's not even worth responding to. It's a joke really, just because you have some idea that your country is superior in boxing you lowball great fighters that Calzaghe wishes he could be. I'd be hard pressed to find someone who would even mention Ricky Hatton's name in the same sentence as Tito or Oscar and obviously Floyd who outclassed him , or Calzaghe to Hopkins or RJJ in the long run. RJJ will maybe lose now but if Calzaghe wouldn't have been worried about padding so much he could've gotten his ass kicked to RJJ while he was still at Super Middle. And I like Bernard Hopkins because he is from Philly, not because he's American, and RJJ and Mayweather are favorites because they are exciting to watch. Or at least Jones used to be.
EDIT: And I fail to see how moving up 10 pounds (career) and in that case 3 pounds from the time of the vargas fight, then actually dropping a pound from KOing Joppy made him lose every once of power he had.
This isn't about country vs country, I actually admire many American boxers infact Holyfield is my all time favorite, I just don't rate Bernard "The Racist" hopkins all that much. As for RJJ in his prime he would have beaten Calzaghe, so see I'm not pro Euro like you are pro USA, I'm just Anti Hopkins.
Like I have said before Calzaghe has beaten Hopkins and is still undefeated, so whine about him all you want, he is regarded as a legend just like Hopkins and your pro USA opinion fortunately doesn't count for anything in the boxing world.

Professor wrote:First off, Oscar wasn't washed up, he was just undersized and couldn't deal with Bernard's strength. As for Tito, I lol'd. Tito was far from washed up at that point, he still was undefeated and believe was still in his 20s. Dont post joke posts like that. Tito was the biggest thing out when B-Hop raped him. B-Hop lost this one but it certainly doesnt make Calzaghe a great fighter, I have the same opinion before the fight as after. B-Hop should retire anywho, hes pretty old, maybe Calzaghe can walk into a joke fight with a slow RJJ to convince people hes a fighter with some type of legacy in the States.
EDIT: He was 40-0 at 28 years old. Shut up please. kthxbai
I saw you was thelast person to post before I read it and predictably you say exactly what I expected, another "pro America" boxing fan.
Tito was washed up, he was at the end of his prime (you dont't have to be 40 to have lost your egde) and like Oscar lost because he moved up a division too far and lost to a bigger man, hell Tito was hitting both Jones are Hopkins with bombs but to no affect, so Hopkins beat two guys because of a weight advantage and lost to Taylor and Jones while in their prime...wow, if I also remember rightly Hopkins was also accused of having a padded 20 title defence record like Calzaghe, but now he has bullied two hasbeen lightweights to get a win and of course being American that's all forgotten?.

Mikkel wrote:Dark D, how can Calzaghe destroy a prime Hopkins when he can't destroy this version of Hopkins ? Would being in england help him somehow ?.
Sorry I meant to say a prime Calzaghe vs a prime Hopkins. Calzaghe in his prime was a machine.
Mikkel wrote:Anyway, Im not saying he is bad, just that he aint all what he is made up to be. Had he beaten Toney, RJJ, Eubank, Hopkins, Mike McCalumn, just one or more of these names when they were top, he would have been considered great. But now sadly Mikkel Kessler and Lacey are one of the better names on his record. Maybe the best opponent he has ever faced is the 43 year old over the hill Hopkins who he wasnt able to hurt at all and who almost beat him..
I can see your point Mikkel, but it's easy to say that with heinsight. Before the fights with Lacy (deemed new Tyson), Kessler(had two titles) and Hopkins (Legend) people were saying how great they are then when Calzaghe wins convincingly ,they are seen as average opponents. You can also only beat everbody in your era, it's been well documented that early in Calzaghe's reign alot of top boxers ducked him. Holmes also had a so called "weak era" and he too struggled toi get the respect he deserved, but 20 years later with this weak heavyweight division he nowlooks great, maybe in 20 years Calzaghe willbe appreciated more.
One last thing, no one is comparing Calzaghe to Hagler or Toney, but at the same time Calzaghe is a legend and his achievements are amazing.

You sure chat alot of crap Assassin. All ifs and buts with you, if Ali was 28 he would have owned Holmes, but he wasn't and lost and for the record in my opinion prime Calzaghe in Wales/England would have destroyed even a prime Hopkins, but bottom line is the FACT is Calzaghe won in 2008 and rightly so.
The only thing Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins executed was his reputation for his pathetic racist comments before the fight.
Hate it or love it Calzaghe is a modern great and does have the respect from all respected American and world journalists who actually know what they are talking about. I won't be respondeding anymore I have said what I have to say and there is no point having a discussion with someone who speaks from the heartrather than his head.

African Assassin wrote:After watching the fight over a second time i honestly thought bernard hopkins took calzaghe to school. He made him fight him fight landed the cleaner harder more eye catching shots slowed calslappy down big time kncked him down, bruised him, cut him, staggered him and WAS NEVER HURT and traded frequently with him... not bad for a 43 year old version of B-Hop. He was robbed twice after outboxing taylor and lost a close decision many thought he won including me to calslappy. It seems like the judges don't want hopkins to retire in peace.... anyways i think he will wait for the dawson tarver winner then dominate who ever of those two bums wins followed by roy "kid coma" jones and then retire in peace.
Compubox Stats:
Total punches thrown: Hopkins 468 Calaghe 707
Punches Landed: Hopkins 127 Calzaghe 232
PCT: Hopkins 27% Calzaghe 33%
Jabs Thrown: Hopkins 93 Calzaghe 224
Jabs Landed: Hopkins 11 Calzaghe 45
PCT: Hopkins 12% Calzaghe 20%
Power Punches Thrown: Hopkins 375 Calzaghe 483
Power Punches Landed: Hopkins 116 Calzaghe 187
PCT: Hopkins 31% Calzaghe 39%
Calzaghe also hit Hopkins more than anybody esle has in his entire career.
So based on FACTS please tell me where your biased opinion stacks up?. Calzaghe has yet again proven people wrong but of course some Americans won't accept a Euro fighter being great. Lennox Lewis also didn't get the respect he deserved.
I don't see how you can win a fight throwing a shot here and there cleaner shot or not then hold everytime Calzaghe tries to land a shot, the man was petrified like he was having a prime Tyson chraging at him. Fighting like a coward deserves a L on the record, his negative style also cost him against Taylor which I think is right.
You use the predictable age excuse, no one was saying he was old when he beat Tarver and Ronald Wright, it only becomes an issue when he loses to a brit right?. If he'd won it would have been called an outstanding achievement , so Calzaghe can't win. Hopkins looked in better condition than Calzaghe, if anything you could argue he was fitter.
Mikkel wrote:What amazes me about JC is not his ability to choose opponents not good enough to beat him or opponents good enough to beat him but too much over the hill.. It's his ability to make boxing look like crap, making every single one of his fights a total bore. Has anyone seriously seen a great fight with JC ?
You can use the Padded record about almost every boxer, it's also very rare for two great fighters to fight each other in their primes which is why Fraizier, Foreman and Ali's era was so great. Infact if you look at Hopkins, He beat a washed up Trinidad, Tarver and Oscar and lost to a prime Roy Jones and Taylor and If I'm not mistaken it was Hopkins negative tactics that made the match boring with his persistent holding. He also kept saying Calzaghe was a homeboy, never fought outside the UK and just how many times has he fought outside the US?,0.
You have never seen a exciting Calzaghe match?,you obviously haven't seen his matches against Eubank, Mitchell, Lacy and Woodhall. Just like every other boxer including Mayweather they have bad nights depending on the person they are fighting. I guarantee if Hopkins wanted a war Calzaghe would have duly obliged.

And how many of those 104 defences were against bums?. You are king padder aswell as a bum, in reality you aren't even in the top 20 of greatest fighters ever, so stop yapping.
As for updating the list, the moment you drop the racist attitude, like calling me a white faggot, a white man disgracing the Nigel Benn name, a wigga etc... and if you beg and I mean BEG just enough I might update it and include you, until then don't ask me anything, I don't want to associate myself with racists, especially cowards behind a computer screen.

Black Bear
I'll vacate your title as soon as i get my admin module working..but remember to get back for 3D I didnt work 4 years with this just so all the talents went away without even giving it a try
Edit btw.. Black Bear has been a very underrated champion..looks like nonoe of the current crip could do much about him, and the current crop itself is very underrated..Way to go Black Bear.
Ps on evalutating BB's carreer i think he is HIF material, what do you all think ?
No disrespect to BB, he is an excellent fighter, but I can think of quite a few guys who should be in the HOF ahead of him like Sugarray, JT and Tyrant.
