The plan is the tentative road map to arrive at the desired end state. A good plan includes a vision statement, task steps and assignments, measures of performance and effectiveness, scheduled progress reports and adjustments, resource acquisition, timelines, and putting the right people with the right skills in the right places. Plans help leaders develop alternatives that allow them to adjust course when they find the environment changed making part or all of a plan unworkable.
