I quit on a knee while knocked down by john i just dont think i have it anymore its the first fight ive ever quit on a knee which is shocking.
I understand how you old vets feel now when you get so rusty then u get these old newbs beating u up now they become x2 better then urself.
I believe a good 50 fight compaign could very well get my skills back intact since im not really a old vet myself with only having played for almost 2 years with 7months retired.
Has any old vet ever quit on a knee before? i feel a bit shitty for doing that with my repitation of a warrior like style almays charging even when hurt.
I would say theres a new improved generation in ob but i dont see it most are stil quite old players e.g. john been playing longer then myself then u got boon 5 year + viper 5 year + etc..
I really hope we get new fighters soon it wud make things interesting i may even start my gym so i have a lasting legacey.

Thats just like you Reaper, when you are faced with adversity you give in faster than a morbidly obease dieting person. While john is a good fighter in this era....if he made you quit then i suggest you retire, because a lot of these young lions from the new school would destroy you. Or fix your horrible horrible defence.

"John represents the renaissance of OB. John stepped up and filled the vacuum Fatny left behind. Not only his skills are amazing, also his dedication to keep this game interesting and alive. I was there when he first won the title, I was watching over his shoulder when he bullied all competition, I was there when he became a HOF´er. I may not be a great fighter myself, but I do have eye for talent. John is something special, I told him right after he won his first title. John is the spark that became a flame that turned into a devastating fire. Apart from being a great guy he never stepped down from a challenge and always looked to square off against OB´s best to further improve his skills. Many HOF´ers made short comebacks during the year John reigned OB, only to be knocked out by Big Bad John." - Dick E. Boon
"The thing with John is that he's just so extremely accurate, both in offense and in defense. There's some punches I consider myself a master of, like the small hook and the long upper. Well they're useless against John no matter how well you throw them, he just keeps blocking 90% of them and hurting you in the process. Speaking of which...if he hurts you (and he will), you better move your head a lot because he also happens to be one of the best finishers i've ever seen. Basically if you're not extremely good AND creative, you'll end up on the floor. A fine addition to the hall of fame indeed." - Fatny |

The first time I played OB was in 2004...so I dunno if you can call me a vet! 4 years is a long time though...I have never dominated or become 'elite'...so I don't think I'm a vet... but if it's judged on time in the game...I might be!

I remember larry doing it at least once at the time he was pissed with my jab/clinching.
But there are other ways to quit and the most obvious to me is going on a suicidal offense when the character is hurt out of frustration. Getting knocked down and losing the fight, then getting up and starting to throw big hooks while with the red bars. I remember unstop and vargas and maybe nigel benn doing that many times, not any better then staying on the knee imo.
(depends of the context obviously, i don't have any problem with someone giving it a last hope suicidal try at the end of a fight when knowing it's his only way to win, i do that too. What i'm talking about is at the beginning or middle of a fight when there's plenty of time and chances to change things around, but the guy is frustrated and does that already)

TBH, i first played this back in 03 or before lol. When there was strange rankings. I remember waiting as the game was updated to the new point ranking system. I think I may of been the 1st on the updated version.

I wasn't known back then because I had a million different alts...but I had a good reason...the fight limit was 60 fights...and then you had to pay!
So I just created a new fighter after I reached 60!
