-a pause. As it is, there is no way to signal to an opponent that one has to go other than quitting and forfeiting the match. I get intense during my matches and so much as a simple distraction will get me KOed.
-rework the power of the jab. Seriously, it's just as strong as the straight (and boxing jabs are not that strong)
-hit location beneath the ear. Hitting this squarely should be like hitting the jaw marker in the front.
-southpaw stance, for us lefties!

The jab is fine. Its very hard to land and keeps the opponent on the outside just as intended. This is not real boxing anyway. if you dont want to get hit by it, Know which angles it can hit you at and avoid them.

You gotta remember, some fags will use it to their advantage. I can imagine someone pausing fights right after they get in the game just to piss someone off..

I actually agree with this.. but i agree with tiger a bit as well. The jab is too strong but it's also hard to land.
Except..
"Tigeruppercut: This is not real boxing anyway."
I thought it was meant to be a boxing simulation, so, if possible, I think most people would like the game as close to reality as it gets. If nerfing the jab makes it more realistic, then it should be done. If you rely on the fact that the strength of the jab is quite high, you'll find it becomes more like a game then a simulation..

Well pretty much landing punches is sucky and hard. I can never land a jab and the only punch I can actually use is the straight right hand..

If the jab is nerfed, I hope it keeps some of its power. its very difficult to land. It was pretty much a useless punch in prior versions, and to me, the jab is the most important punch in boxing.
Its funny Im really good at landing jabs and I only hear about nerfing it when I use peoples head like a ping pong ball with it. I would like the jab to stay like it is, but its Mikkels game, if its nerfed for the good of the game, I can live with that. I just hope it doesnt become useless.
Mikkel brutally knocked me out yesterday because he stayed away from my jab and nuetralized it.

Proffessor; you need to learn the punch angles and the best distance for each punch to land. Each stances punches shoot at diffrent angles, and it also depends on where you angle your body. I'm not talking down to you, I am just trying to help.
If you ask anyone whos fought me in 3d, I can almost land my punches at anytime, its because I know where to stand and how to line the punches up.

how do you change styles? And does that hands completely down style have any purpose? It looks sucky to me.

I use the hands down style. I think you press D or F. it might be bugged. At any rate.
The first stance(shoulder roll), does not have a lot of power, but it has good defense. Plus the reason my the jab hurts so much is because it comes from below, which will hit the chin hit box. Thats probably why it does so much damage. It sucks when it comes to hooks and its weak against right hands.
The second stance (slugger). Has a lot of power. Jabs are straighter so they will aim for the higher hit boxes that wont do as much damage as the first but still hurts. It has very powerful hooks. Its weak up the middle since the gaurd is open . body shots, and straight punches up the middle are its weakness.
Third Stance (peekabo) not a lot of people use this anymore. I think its bugged. To me it has the best defense since the gaurd is right in front. Its hard for me to land anything on it since I use the shoulder roll stance. Its got good offensive properties. Punches are nice and straight and has good power in hooks and uppercuts.
Each stance can counter the other depending on the situation.
Also If you are having trouble landing punches, you have to pay attention to what angle the punches are traveling and learn to pivot your body using the pivot command.
Im no expert, this is just from my experience.

Press D. And landing punches isn't that hard, just depends how much practice you've had as after a while you begin to get used to the right ranges.

Oh how I wish I could play OB3D.
|
- OB Accounts: Rocky Marciano plus too many alts
- Join Date: 2007
- Status: Retired for now. Logs on every now and then just to troll.
- OB Class: A+++++ Elite and yes you got it right a FIVE STAR Elite.
- Goals: Been there, seen that, done it all so none other than reaching 1000 fights (on an alt) with above 90% win percentage I have been hunting after ever since joining OB2D.
- Titles won: too many to remember
- Title defenses: too many to remember
- Best win streak 132 wins in a row in total.
- Style: Very technical when needed to. Other than that force ko for the win!
- Signature Punch: The Rocky Marciano combo (now also available without french fries).
- Signature Taunt: Letting opponent recover back to full healt before KOing him for good.
- Weakness: Fatny, the king of OB2D
- Career highlights: Been there and done it all but yes there is one little thing that rises above all titles and such: making Reaper quit after I tkoed him 16 times in a row all inside first two rounds. We were supposed to box 100 times
- Quotes: "I just TKoed you 16 times in a row Reaper. What's the matter? Can not make is past first two rounds? Did I make you quit? Why so silent all of sudden? Oh I just made you STFU "
- Stupid nickname given by other players: Mini Fatny.
- Words of wisdom: Styles make fights. Sometimes even HOF caliber fighters lose to inferior boxers due to this fact. Everyone has their rythm and once you get inside that rythm, you will make life hell for that person (in the ring).
- PS. All signatures are stupid. |

i say we really need that southpaw stance... im not a southpaw, but pretty much all good boxing games have a southpaw stance
also maybe we could have personal default settings when logins come out. like maybe you can choose to start out with a your stance that you normally have to switch to (and if the stance thing comes through, maybe that can be adjusted too).

I can't hit anything with the jab, so I pretty much use the right straight all the time, and I hear about it alot :S Southpaw would be easier for me
