Larry Holmes

What about Larry Holmes. This guy has been around since the year 1620. But as far as I know he has always been second best after guys like HTF, Fatny, Bear. Has he ever really dominated or was he always second best?

Well there was a few times I was rated #1 p4p..dont remember who else fought at that time probably none special.

larry holmes has always been an incredible fighter, at one time him and fatny were neck to neck in skill.

Well larry is a gd fighter and if u knew much then u would know hes much better then bear and better then htf but just by a little.
Second best player on ob maybe third if you count labratory.
Why is bear being mentioned? hes not even on larry or htf or fatnys scale not even close.

First off how can a person whos been here a year rate a inactive fighter who's barley fought in the last 2 years. Even Larry Holmes does not fight like he use to.

Better style that can rival fatny's and your style gets beat easy by fatny even now.

When I first joined in Nov 06 Larry was the one dominating if I remember correctly and before I stopped playing 2D I watched him beat Fatny so I wouldn't rate him as a constant second best. He's succeeded in becoming superchamp before so I don't see how he could never have been dominant.

I am not claiming I am better but I have done just as much as Larry if not more. Check the title history page along with becoming super champ and undispited multi times. I also held more titles at one time then any other fighter.

We have done about the same. I am just saying you need to study and learn the facts before trying to say whats what. In your era maybe larry is the best but your era is what 15 months????

as said...if all you know is HTF, Bear and Fatny...then you're missing a great big chunk of OB history...

Larry is in my top 3 of all time...accompanied by HTF and Labratory...

I've viewed him as #1 of all time because he's be around in every era of great fighters since the beginning...and had his dominant place at the top in each era...HTF, Labratory and Fatny had the quick rising splashes to dominance...even Unstoppable...but Larry has been at it since the beginning and had many eras of dominance..

he's slowed down over the past 2 years...but any old crusty fart would...

and he fought prime at a time where about 4-6 HOFers were active and in their primes

As I said Ive never seen Larry dominating HTF, Fatny, Unstop or Bear when they were in their primes.

Nothing personal against Larry though. Hes a great fighter.

Yeah yeah but still never seen u rival top laggers like africans assasin and other laggers with their whopping 450 ping, sometimes more than 700.

Not taking anything away from dickie he is a great lagger just never saw him dominate laggers like African Assasin when they were in their prime time lag.
