The most underrated fighter of his era he fought 300 times from light wieght to heavywieght and was ducked by alot of champions.
Jack dempsy didnt want to fight him and jack johnson refused a rematch after he won by a ud but sam langford was only a light middlewieght then when he fought johnson and he stil droped johnson a few times but he dropped a few more.
His only title was the mexican heavywieght title he won while fighting almost completely blind he had a carat in one eye and he cudnet see out of the other .

a man i think you should add to this list of underated fighter would be a man by the name of charles burley

now you may look at the record and go oh he lost 12 times.

but where as langford fought soft opposition on and off burley was fighting world class fighters for 15 years.

was a world class counterpuncher and a skilled boxer with a big dig in both hands.

he was so good lamotta,robinson , cerdan refused to fight him. where as sam was in a racist time when dempsey's manager didnt want any black fighter fighting him which includes mcvey,wills, and langford.

burley was actually vocally ducked by great welter and middlewieght champions and contenders who ducked him through him being a dangerous fighter....he never made you look good which is the main thing

also would like to mention he beat up archie moore...yes a light heavywieght champion with ease

i think the langfrod record is blown out of proportion. he does have 300 fights but he wanst fightign owrld class fighter everyday. defintly one of the p4p greats but i wouldnt thikn he would do well against a more modern fighter

Lol your saying out of 300 fights he barely fought World Class opposition..

How many world class fighters were there? like 20-30? so therefore theres no way he could always fight "World Class Fighters".

He was a very skilled underrated fighter.
