Unfortunately, only HOFers may cast a vote. That's always been the rule.

IMO, Red is about a year or two from HOF status if he continues to improve. However, at the moment I don't believe he's ever been HOF material.

Usually a HOFer is someone that totally dominated for a certain period of time. However, a future HOFer could be someone that was clearly the #2 or #3 for a certain period of time, and was only not as good as the other 2, which happened to be HOFers.

At the moment, I just don't think Red's consistent enough to be considered. But I do agree with Fatny, that he has pretty good skills.

In regards to Vargas, I was never here during his best run, but I do remember him being an extremely intelligent fighter in the ring. If he's still around, he should make a comeback and start kicking my ass regularly. That'll definitely earn him my vote.

at this point he can DOMINATE, sal vacated, htf left, vargas is barely on, and black bear never gets on, nigel hasnt been since i left. right now he can obtain all the titles and dominate OB.

"John represents the renaissance of OB. John stepped up and filled the vacuum Fatny left behind. Not only his skills are amazing, also his dedication to keep this game interesting and alive. I was there when he first won the title, I was watching over his shoulder when he bullied all competition, I was there when he became a HOF´er. I may not be a great fighter myself, but I do have eye for talent. John is something special, I told him right after he won his first title. John is the spark that became a flame that turned into a devastating fire. Apart from being a great guy he never stepped down from a challenge and always looked to square off against OB´s best to further improve his skills. Many HOF´ers made short comebacks during the year John reigned OB, only to be knocked out by Big Bad John." - Dick E. Boon

"The thing with John is that he's just so extremely accurate, both in offense and in defense. There's some punches I consider myself a master of, like the small hook and the long upper. Well they're useless against John no matter how well you throw them, he just keeps blocking 90% of them and hurting you in the process. Speaking of which...if he hurts you (and he will), you better move your head a lot because he also happens to be one of the best finishers i've ever seen. Basically if you're not extremely good AND creative, you'll end up on the floor. A fine addition to the hall of fame indeed." - Fatny

There are a lot of very good fighters who beat all of the current HOFers throughout their careers, but that doesn't make them HOFers. It's about consistency brother.

I would first cast my vote towards some forgotten fighters of the past with great accomplishments than cast it your way right now.

As I've always said, you've got some great potential, but you must put it all together and become extremely consistent. You'll know when your time has arrived. You won't even have to toot your own horn about the HOF because a lot of people, including a few HOFers, will start talking about it. You just have to be patient.

Skills has a point. It should not be solely based on "dominating"...it should be based on many different points...all of these points should be considered and an overall conclusion should be made. Maybe all of Red Viper's good aspects will outweigh the domination aspect!

Take me for example...I think I have contributed quite a lot to the game...to make it more entertaining and get more people involved in the forum...but I am way too inconsistent...and I don't have the skill level to be even considered for the Hall of Fame. Maybe in the future...if I can win a lot more titles and consistently win and be in the top 3 for about a year...then I should be considered for the Hall of Fame. This is my opinion...because if this does happen, I will have enough "good aspects" to be considered for the HOF..such as 'contribution to OB', 'Skill', 'Consistency', 'Lots of Title Wins'...etc...

Anyone agree? Or do you think they "MUST" dominate? (like Sal/Fatny)!

Remember..it is called the "HALL OF FAME"..not "HALL OF DOMINATING" lol... if you look at the UFC's HOF...they have people that have been beaten many times...but they are LEGENDS...they have done a lot for the sport...they are really famous...but some of them never "dominated"!

This I would agree with it. I did get to fight those guys at their best, and they were all every extremely well-rounded and consistent. I think any of those guys could still make it in if they came back and put together another run. Tyrant is another guy from back in the day that I've always pulled for. At one point, he was a very skillful boxer. Where art thou Tyrant?

Skillz wrote:wtf the fuck does it hav to do with DOMINATING,everybody going on and on about "to be in the HOF u hav to dominate" it shouldnt b tht way..
it shud b based on experience in the game, what you hav done for the game and skill..
because who knos Viper has been here while the best were playn and was and is still hanging around..
idk bout yall but i think Viper and Vargas shud b in the HOF aswell and Nigel Benn.

If we were to use your criteria, we'd have to induct about 20 other guys before Red. Believe me, I've been here from the beginning, and there were a lot of very good fighters to play that never made it in to the HOF because they never really separated themselves from the pack although at their very best they had the skills to compete with just about anyone. Also, keep in mind that they didn't have the convenience of fighting for multiple titles nor were they benefactors of this title tracking system which essentially records how good you are or once were.

Huh? I never voted for Red Viper to be inducted for the Hall of Fame.
I said that it should not be judged on just "dominating"...it should be much more than that!

I don't vote for, or against him... it is not for me to decide...so I simply don't vote.

After giving it a long thought Red Viper should be in the HOF. Hall of the FAMOUS .... they don´t have to be the very best or dominate all other players for a period of time. They have to be remembered. Vipers style is unique, he is fun to watch and great to fight against, he ducks no one, he doesnt create alts so he can practice anonymous against good players (like Vargas/ Rocky), he frequently knocks out almost all of the best players, he is one of the most recognizible fighters ever on OB and he must have around 10.000 fights under his belt, including his former names, which shows his dedication.

I know that according to the HOF´ers and Mikkel the opinion of non-HOF´ers doesnt matter (which is not correct imho as in real sports the people who judge performances are not always sport legends themselves) but it is fun to share opinions with other players about the HOF.

I´d like to change my opinion. YES, Red Viper should be HOF.
