here's IGN's Rating:

7.5 Presentation
The venues look cool enough and the entrance music brings it all to life nicely. The documentary that’s built in to the career is a cool idea if not a bit limiting.
6.0 Graphics
Boxer models don’t look all that great and the animations try to help but fail miserably.
7.5 Sound
Great entrance music that stays varied throughout the game thanks to a progressive unlock system. Corner men sound stupid and the punches don’t pack much of a wallop.
4.5 Gameplay
The animations betray the sport of boxing from the onset. Collision detection is way off and everything looks stiff and unnatural. Face button gameplay feels a bit old-hat.
5.5 Lasting Appeal
The career mode is good for one playthrough, but that’s it. Multiplayer helps, as does the long list of boxers, but in the end you just won’t have much fun here.

I agree with you Catfish, i knew this game would be bad. The Career mode is going to suck because it will repeat everytime you play it and you only play as one weight class. Plus this game has no replay value whsts so ever. The producers of this game did a poor job of making the gameplay fun to play. They also did a horrible job of advertising and marketing this game also. Even classic boxing games like Punch-Out are a lot more fun to play than this. Thanks for putting up the review Catfish.

I can't believe the stupid fanboys on the 2k Sports board such as Shadio3 and FighterforJC are buying this sorry excuse of a boxing game. I hope they better think twice to buy this game after they read the bad reviews for this game. I'll wait for Fight Night Round 4.

Nope, the review that just came out for this game is for the XBOX 360. The Nintendo wii one has not come out yet, you have to wait until September for that.

This is the gamespot Review of this sorry excuse of a Boxing game. This has more negatives than positives.

Score- 5.5

The Good- Plenty of real fighters, Lengthy Career mode and Don King's hair.

The Bad- Controls are too complicated and unresponsive, Career mode's story is poorly executed, Gameplay is dull, Punches lack "oomph" and Presentation is behind the times.

After i've read both IGN's and Gamespot's review i suggest that you stay away from this game as possible. If you buy this game, it will be the dumbest decison of your life because your not going to like it when you play it.

So can anyone who has it confirm that I shouldn't waste £30 on this and buy FNR3 again intead?

EDIT: I bought FN again, after watching a few vids of the gameplay of DKP, there's no way I could cope with that complete shit, that 2d boxing game where all you do is click your mouse looks better.

Prizefighter is a great game, it's leagues better than FightNight ever was. The career mode is great, but the biggest let-down is the online (the sole reason I bought the game). Don't get me wrong, there is NO LAG at all, the connection is FLAWLESS, but unfortunately for online they made your health bar recover wayyyyyyyyy too quickly. I've yet to dish or recieve a knockDOWN online much less a KO. Between all of my brother's games and mine, we've seen 1 KD which was a KO but only in the 11th round of a 12 round fight I think it was, and he had to do it with a guy that had extremely high dexterity (punch quickness ingame) and a fairly high amount of stamina to keep throwing punches. The fighter wasn't even all that strong. Yet the other guy was very strong, but strength online is practically useless.

Put it this way - the closest I came to a knockdown was a guy I made that had full stamina, 185 dex (out of 200), 15 strength, and no agility. Go figure.

Aside from that, most of the reason people say the game sucks is because they jumped right into it, never did the tutorial, never bothered to learn the controls or how ot play defense, then got the shit kicked out of them and went back to the forum and said it sucked.

Sad, because it's a great game imo.

Players are petitioning to get the life-bar regen lowered online. It doesn't regen even *NEAR* that fast in the single-player, so idk wtf they were thinking.
